Creating a World That Works for All of Us, Everywhere

Advancing what is in the interest of all people in all countries

10 Billion is a global initiative with a powerful message: many people around the world already share a common vision for humanity’s future—a world where 10 billion people can thrive, not just survive. Our mission is to unite people in spreading this message and driving collective action to achieve outcomes that contribute to our shared vision.

History shows transformative change happens when people unite with a shared purpose and commitment to action. Whether it was the fight against slavery, colonialism, or apartheid, the right to vote, or the fight for universal rights, progress accelerated when people recognized they were not alone in wanting a better world. Similarly, global victories like the eradication of smallpox, the healing of the ozone layer, and the Paris Agreement proved that when we come together, we can achieve the extraordinary. Today, more people than ever are recognizing that our dreams for the future are aligned. This growing awareness is our most powerful tool—by spreading the message that we all want the same goal, we can accelerate progress and make the extraordinary possible in our lifetime.

Now it’s our turn to make history. We’re building a movement that transcends borders. Your voice, ideas, and actions matter. Make a difference by engaging with our initiative, join our global community, and contribute to our mission. Together, we can shape the future of 10 billion people. Are you ready to be part of the change that will shape our world?

At 10 Billion, you have the power to turn our shared vision into reality. Let’s spread the word and build the future together.

By 2060, Earth’s human population may reach 10 billion, presenting unprecedented challenges and incredible opportunities. At 10 Billion, we believe that sharing a common vision is the first step to turning these challenges into catalysts for positive change through strategic action, measurable objectives, and a commitment to overcoming the barriers that divide us.

The Vision

Through countless conversations across the globe – from rural villages to bustling metropolises, from grassroots movements to global forums – a pattern has emerged. People everywhere increasingly share a common hope for our world:

  • A world free from the threats of war, nuclear annihilation, and other existential risks.
  • A planet with a stable climate where our children can breathe clean air and drink pure water.
  • A society where everyone can meet their basic needs and reach their full potential.
  • A future protected against pandemics and biological threats.
  • Technology that serves all of humanity while mitigating risks from AI.
  • A world where everyone’s rights, dignity, and freedoms are respected.

This universal aspiration transcends borders, cultures, and ideologies. It’s the common thread that binds many of us together.

People today have the power to shape this future, but it starts with understanding that our vision is shared by millions around the globe. The more we spread this message, the sooner we can realize it in our lifetime. Your ideas, energy, and actions can turn this vision into reality. Join us in creating a world that works for all 10 billion, where everyone can reach their full potential.

What We Do

  • Spread Awareness: We highlight the common aspirations people share across cultures and borders, showing that we’re more united in our vision for the future than we often realize. By spreading this awareness, we can accelerate our collective progress.
  • Inspire Action: We harness the power of creativity to drive change and show that what seems impossible today can be tomorrow’s reality, encouraging everyone to be part of the change. We also provide clear, actionable steps for individuals and communities to take, ensuring that our vision translates into tangible outcomes. This includes setting achievable milestones, tracking progress, and adapting our strategies based on real-world feedback.
  • Provide a Platform: We’re building a diverse, global network of change-makers to connect practitioners, dreamers, and builders from all walks of life. By joining, you’ll exchange insights with others who share your vision, turning knowledge into action. It’s a go-getter’s network designed to amplify impact and foster collaboration.
  • Showcase Progress: We highlight success stories and proven solutions, showing that positive change is already happening. Through regular newsletters and live updates, we keep our community informed and inspired, celebrating every step towards our shared goals.

Our core belief is that by recognizing our shared vision, we can build the collective will to overcome humanity’s greatest challenges. We’re a catalyst that empowers individuals to become part of the solution.

As citizens, we’ve seen established institutions struggle to address global challenges. The UN and other organizations, while well-intentioned, often move too slowly and are disconnected from the perspectives of people on the ground. 10 Billion is different—we’re a movement that harnesses the collective energy, creativity, and a digital-native mindset to drive rapid, meaningful change.

The Critical Challenges of Our Time

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

Today, we face new challenges on an unprecedented scale. The challenges we face are enormous, but so is our collective potential. What seems impossible now may be reality in 30 years, thanks to your courage, creativity, and determination. The future is not set—it’s ours to create. Let’s focus on achievable milestones to make a future where 10 billion can thrive.

Create a World Without War

Despite decades of relative peace, the threat of devastating war and nuclear annihilation still looms. We must lead the way in diplomacy, international cooperation, and arms control to resolve the root causes of conflicts, reduce the risks of nuclear weapons, and build lasting peace around the world.

Objective: Achieve progress in reducing global military spending by 2035 through international agreements, disarmament initiatives, and peacebuilding strategies, tailored to the geopolitical landscape.

Example: The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which has gained increasing support worldwide, is a step toward global disarmament.

Safeguard Earth’s Habitability

Global temperatures are rising beyond 1.5°C since pre-industrial times, threatening the stability of our ecosystems and our civilization. We must accelerate the transition to clean energy and adopt sustainable practices. By focusing on scalable, innovative technologies that can be implemented globally, we can slow climate change, protect ecosystems, and sustainably manage natural resources to ensure a healthy environment for future generations.

Objective: Achieve a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2035 through clean energy initiatives, reforestation projects, and sustainable practices.

Example: Costa Rica’s commitment to 100% renewable energy has made it a global leader in sustainability.

End Extreme Poverty for Everyone

At least 700 million people still live in extreme poverty. We need systemic solutions to ensure every person has access to the education, healthcare, and opportunities needed to break free from poverty and build a better life.

Objective: Ensure that at least 350 million people are lifted out of extreme poverty by 2035 through targeted educational programs and economic reforms.

Example: The success of microfinance initiatives in Bangladesh has empowered millions to build sustainable livelihoods.

Strengthen Global Health and Pandemic Preparedness

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed our global vulnerabilities, including the risk of engineered pathogens. We must invest in robust health systems, ensure biotechnology is used responsibly, and coordinate swift, effective responses to outbreaks to prevent future pandemics and mitigate biological risks that could threaten humanity.

Objective: Establish a global pandemic preparedness and biological risk mitigation fund by 2030 to ensure rapid response capabilities and reduce the threat of widespread outbreaks and engineered biological threats.

Example: The establishment of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) in 2017, which has successfully funded and accelerated vaccine development during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a model for future global health initiatives.

Develop Technology Responsibly to Improve Lives

Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, geoengineering, and genetic modification hold immense potential but also significant risks. We must guide these advancements to ensure they are used responsibly and fairly, improving lives while safeguarding against harm and existential threats posed by unchecked technological development.

Objective: Ensure that by 2030, 90% of the global population has access to digital technology and the internet, while minimizing the risks posed by artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Example: The expansion of mobile banking in Kenya through M-Pesa has revolutionized financial inclusion, providing millions with access to financial services and lifting many out of poverty.

Uphold Justice and Human Rights

As global challenges grow, the need to protect justice and human rights becomes more urgent. We must innovate in governance, empower citizens, and ensure that all solutions protect human rights, uphold individual dignity, and promote equitable decision-making in an increasingly digital world.

Objective: Implement universal legal protections for digital privacy and digital human rights by 2030, ensuring that all individuals have protection from unwarranted surveillance and access to fair digital governance.

Example: The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has set a global standard for data protection and privacy, influencing similar laws worldwide and empowering individuals to control their personal information.
